SEAN GELAEL
The young boy true name is Muhammad Sean Ricardo Gelael (born 1 November 1996) is an Indonesian racing driver. He currently competes in the 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship for Pertamina Arden. He also participated in the first practice session of the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix for Scuderia Toro Rosso.
Biography
Muhammad Sean Ricardo Gelael is a young car racer from Indonesia who currently competes in the karting WSK Masters. Although his age is still fairly young, but his achievements that he achieved has been abundant in the field of sports, especially sports car racing.
The year 2005 is the beginning of his career as a racer in which he participated in many racing competitions such as his participation in the event of Rally Sprint nation championship. At that time he became a navigator for Ricardo Gelael, his father, who is also a senior racer. Then, he followed the kart starting from the 2009 season in Rotax Max Junior class while still participating in the event of a rally nation championship.
In 2010, he began to establish himself to compete fully in the event kart. Thanks to his efforts, he eventually became one of the young Indonesian drivers who were sent to join international karting competition in 2011 ago. In this year 2012, Sean was competing in the arena of Indonesia Kart Prix 2012 at Circuit Sentul, Bogor. This Prix Kart Championship 2012 is not a haphazard event because it has been followed by racers from 15 countries and has been officially registered in the calendar of the international karting body CIK-FIA. In addition, Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) was listed as the organizer. Despite being an only child, Sean has no spoiled nature. He is independent and with his own initiative wants to follow in his father's footsteps to become a racer. Teenagers who love sports automotive sports, jet ski and soccer is fairly friendly and cheap smile. When a person greets him, he always gives a smile.
Because he wrestled the racing world early on, Sean never get MURI Records as the youngest national navigator / world at the age of eight years. Looks like Ricardo, his father, is already preparing for career in this car racing race. This youngster always has the attitude and positive thoughts every follow karting at any level. He has won various competitions, such as champion of 2011 Gurnart nation championship.

He won third place in Asian Karting Open Championship – Formula 125 Senior Open 2011.
Asian Series
Sean began his car racing career in his native continent, competing in the Formula Pilota China in 2012. He finished his debut season fourth in the overall standings and second in the "Best Asian Trophy" standings. Sean raced for the BVM team in the last round of the 2012 Formula Abarth season at Monza.
FIA Formula 3 Championship
He also competed in the 2013 British Formula 3 season alongside Antonio Giovinazzi. He claimed his first podium in F3 at Silverstone by finishing 3rd in the second race. He finished eight in the final overall standing.
Masters of Formula 3
He made his debut in the 2013 Masters of Formula 3 on 7 July 2013, but was forced to retire.
Formula Renault 3.5 Series
On 20 January 2015, it was announced that he will compete in the 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 Series season with Carlin partnering with Tom Dillmann.
GP2 Series
Sean Gelael made his GP2 Series début with Carlin Motorsport in Hungary on 24–26 July 2015. Gelael finished 18th in the feature race and 20th in the sprint race.[12]
In 2016, Gelael competed full time in the GP2 Series with Campos Racing partnering Mitch Evans.[13] At Catalunya, Gelael finished 19th in the feature race having started from 22nd on the grid. Gelael had his first podium in Spielberg, Austria, where he finished in 2nd alongside his teammate Mitch Evans who won the race.
